A well-to-do Newfoundland family departs St. John's Harbour beneath a boarded up Cabot Tower. After enjoying ship's activities while navigating busy North Atlantic shipping lanes, they arrive in Europe in time to film a carnival parade in Nice, France. Only a wealthy family would have been able to afford the jourrney and own a movie camera... which was an almost unheard-of luxury in Newfoundland in those days... Circa 1935.(less)
