Charles Kingsford-Smith and the crew of the Southern Cross, a Fokker F.VIIb/3m trimotor aircraft, landed at Harbour Grace from Ireland June 25 1930 on the last leg of a round the world trip. The crew spent that night at Cochrane House, ate breakfast, packed a lunch, and then departed for Roosevelt Field, Long Island, New York. They were welcomed by the Mayor of New York and a couple of days later they met the President at the White House. This was shot June 26, 1930 near Harbour Grace, Newfoundland.
